include a bachelor's degree plus 3 years of experience, or a master's degree plus 1 year, in federal and State regulations governing management of natural resources in California. The position requires a working knowledge of CEQA and NEPA compliance, effective problem-solving ability, excellent writing skills, and the ability to work both independently and with a team.

Applicants must have strong technical and academic background in an applied biological science (e.g. herpetology, terrestrial biology, ornithology, botany). Candidates who currently live in the East Bay are preferred. Some field work is required that will involve long days in rough terrain and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Many assignments will involve writing and reviewing technical reports and addressing impacts and mitigation of proposed activities on special-status species.
